Bloody fireworks have started. They send the dog mad. She gets very stressed at this time of year. Norwegians spend about 20 million pounds on fireworks. Some politicians have suggested that they buy a lesser amount and send the balance to help the poor souls in Indonesia and the other areas affected by the tidal wave. An excellent idea I thought. I'm sending what I can afford as I don't buy fireworks anyway.

Great Christmas. Lots of snow and logs on the fire etc... Entire family came over and there wasn''t even the hint of a heated discussion among them. Roisin and Veli had great fun. Veli enjoys taking the tangerines from the table and licking them (no teeth), then he throws them away. Got lots of small practical gifts including thermal undies for my treks into the snows, jumpers and of course socks. One thing I was really hoping for was slippers but maybe next year. B. had a great day too, which was wonderful as she doesn't have too many good days. Have uploaded a pic of us taken on the 25th. I am now loaded with the flu. I went to work but had to come home again as my chest is really caught so went to the chemist and got something to loosen it up and hopefully I'll be rid of it soon. Don't know what we're doing for Hogmanay so we will take it as it comes I guess.

Actually kinda-sorta looking forward to Xmas now. Norwegians do the gift thing this evening and tomorrow is just a normal day more or less. Have uploaded a pic of a tired Santa (me)taken this evening while imbibing. Note the snoopy pj's (last years xmas pressie).

New record for rain/snow. We've had 500ml of the wet stuff in December so far!! Started snowing again today and temps dropped to -5c brrrr. Last day at work tomorrow and then back again on Monday. Whole family coming on xmas day so maybe I'll move out :-)

Went over to visit Helen and her boyfriend last night. B. was well into the captain morgans and was a bit rough today. I was the designated pilot so drank cola all night. Good laugh had by all. Shona has gone to pics, B and Ruth have gone shopping so the wee ones are in charge of their grandad for a while.

Still being messed about by the bank. We pay all our bills over the nettbank and the money goes out as we pay so there is no time delay involved. Checked the bank today and all the bills had been paid but I was still NOK1000 in the good for no reason. Going to check with them tomorrow. Bloody strange. Same thing happened when I went to Denmark.
I sent a pic to the printers but stipulated the wrong size and it is now poster size.

Have been painting a lot at work these days ue to the bad weather and I've noticed that my mood swings very easily. For instance, I was in a good mood this evening and then I saw Ruth splashing in all the puddle shse could fine on the way home. She is 15 and I got sooooo angry at her. What the F..k was that all about? I realise that it was petty and I did the same, but it was scary how angry I got over a bagatelle! The paint we are using is particularily strong so maybe it is that!!!
On a darker note :0) finished with my greek course. I have, however, signed up for the second unit which begins late Jan'. Will try to see if the greek alphabet works on Blogg. Kαλισπερα.

Completely done in this evening. Spent 2 hours in the gym and now my arms and stomach ache. Have increased the weights and sets. Sat in the sauna for 15 mins afterwards to relax. Helen's boyfriend was with me and it is not as awkward as I thought it would be. Have set down some rules but he ignores them and gibbers on and on about Helen. Nice to be besotted. Came home and B had made a nice greek salad with warm bread, olives and feta drizzled with oil. Washed down with a glass of wine - heavenly.

Uploaded some new pics to the family album. Have managed to get stuck in a rut as far as reading goes. Reading basically crime books. Most recently read "A Touch of Frost" book. God it was good, really funny but seriously mind bending in bits. Apparently the author wrote some of the "Carry On" film scripts. worth a read anyway.

Geting a bit sad in my old age. Sitting here at 00.30 drinking beer and listening to depressing Greek music over the web. Looking forward to a long lie in the morning but not entirely sure it will happen. Going to buy the MP3 player tomorrow.
Roisin and Veli got goldfish for Xmas. He wants to eat them and she wants to take them out and play with them. Strange things, kids!

I've just booked the tickets to go to Scotland for my nephews 21st birthday. Should have been going on the actual day which is the 4th but it was extortionatly expensive. Nathan and I go on the 6th and come back on the 9th for under 1200;-NOK which is about £100. That is return from here to Stanstead and return from there to Glasgow. Not too bad that!!

Endelig fredag! At last it is Friday. Bought the I Robot dvd and some beers. So pizza, beer and relaxation are on the menu for tonight. B has gone for the Xmas dinner at the uni', Ruth has gone to stay with her pal, so it is just the boys. Bought Nathan some alcohol free beers to set the tone. Going to have a bath first and relax.

Feeling much better after the gym and sunbed. Having a wee glass of wine this evening with my dinner so form is on the way up. I was supposed to be going out to dinner with the ones from my Greek course tomorrow night but teach' 'phoned and cancelled as she is suffering from the Giardia epidemic running around town. Real shame as we had been practicing all week for ordering the food and wine.
Really strange situation at the moment. The mate that I went to Denmark with and have worked off and on with over the last 3 years and who is my gym partner, has got a new girlfriend - namely my daughter Helen. He is 23 and she is 20 so no probs there but it just feels really strange to have your mate going out with your daughter. B. says I am just odd but it does feel funny. He is a decent bloke and hard working etc. but she is my daughter. Anyway they are having fun together and that is what is important. Life is too bloody short to worry about everything.

Getting ready to go to the gym. Really can't be arsed but hopefuly will be in better form when I actually get out of the door. Was painting at work today and the paint had a really strong smell, felt a bit rough for a while afterwards.

Managed to upload pics from my mountain trips in the summer and autumn and some family ones. The nuthatch and the cactus are not family members. The dog and the cat are. Rather a good pic of me hoovering a moose!!!

Up and running again after a long dispute with Telenor as to who paid for a modem that was destroyed by a surge of power throught the telephone line. They paid!

Back at last. Had a rather long dispute with Telenor about who should pay for a modem destroyed in a lighning storm. They paid as the surge came through the telephone lines.
