I really did the bad tempered old fart routine to an excess last night. Today feeling slightly humbled by my tirade(s) and had a terrible night. Now 6.15am and I'm having yet another cup of coffee. Dossman and Pete are coming for the weekend today and I'm being picked up by them in Helensburgh around lunch time. Hope for a better mood.
Words of wisdom.
A grudge is hard to bear because it's heavy and has no handles, it is best discarded once the initial outburst has gone.

Had a great walk up Beinn an Lochainn at Arrochar yesterday. Here are some of the pics including one of an old goat and another of a ptarmigan (guess which is which).

Well, I've now booked my flights to Norway for the 15th Oct. Probably couldn't really afford it but what the hey. I'd promised N and R that we would go so a promise is a promise. I'll work out the rest later.

Wow. What a helluva few weeks I've had. Loads of stressfull shit. On reflection much of it has been over bitty things but it's the accumulation of negativity that's really getting me down. We've had so many changes imposed on us and of course these have to be passed on to the staff so this causes even more negativity. Resulting in huge amounts of bitchiness and back-biting. I've noticed for quite a while now that my boss wants to push my colleague out of the way. This would be a huge mistake as she knows so much more about the system than I or he does for that matter so she would be a huge loss. Anyway I had a subversive meeting with her today and we sorted things out. We'll try to do things our way as much as possible without giving the boss the impression that we're by-passing him.
Hope it works as I'm really getting stressed out.

Hnt number one. Don't write when agitated. Number two - remember spell checking.

Bugger it. I've lost the last post. Itr was really good too.
We had an acrimonious meeting today with one of our sub-contractors and the upshot of it all is that despite theri arm waving and agitation they will toe the line we put down whether they like it or not. We put it more politely than that but that's the gist.

Just reading back the last blog. 100 staff is a bit of a stretch but it's not going to be too far off that considering we employ our clients and there are about 50 of those at the moment. It's a lot of responsibility anyway.

I managed to actually escape work at 17:05 today yippeeee. In order to do this i had to take a load home with me. Think I may have said so before but I'm taking over operations in the next county so there is a lot of reading and getting my head 'round what's happening there. Not too stressed about it but I would have liked to share the workload with my colleague but the big boss says we need 1 person at the front and not seem divided. There was just no reasoning with the man. This will mean that I'll have resposibility for about 100 staff and (part time and full time) and for several sub-contractors to boot.
This evening Veli and I went over to the old flat to sort out the tubs etc. that I had to leave behind. They are now emptied and about 1,000 midges have now had their appetite sated. Have even managed to get to the gym 3 times this week and am going again tomorrow. I'll get fit for life even if it kills me.

I went to work this morning and had to come home. I've been feely lousy all morning and it just got to the stage where all I could think of was my bed. I've had a wee nap now but my stomach is still poorly.
I slept fitfully last night with chills and fevers. I'm on the meds now so here's hopin' I'm ready for work tomorow.

I had a very nice walk up Ben Lomond today (a Munro) took about 4 hours up and down. the GPS went a bit wonky towards the end but I think that was more to do with the lapel of my jacket covering the receiver. I hope so anyway. Not much in the way of scenery as it had all been switched off and the cheaper grey mist was put in it's place. Anyway here's a couple of reasonable pics from today.

I'm hoping to get to Skipness for a walk tomorrow if the bus is running. Going to try the gps again to make sure all is ok.

An interesting photo', above right, of Tarbet (NOT Tarbert where I live but the one on Loch Lomond), taken from the opposite shore at Rowardennon.
