I've just returned from NI and I had a FANTASTIC time. Lots of good friends, food and wine. What more could a simple person like me need?

I went to look for a newer car last Friday. I found one and went back today to buy it but the bloody thing had been sold. Soooo I bought a differnet one. Same model but 1 year younger. Picking it up on Thursday - I'm all excited now.

I've been feeling a bit guilty over the weekend as to my attitude towards my boss. There are a lot of things that he does that I disagree with but due to the extensive changes in our organisation coming up I think that it would be better to put my energies in a more positive direction. To this end we had a meeting this morning and I laid out a lot of things and defended them for the most part. I had a chat with one of the other managers and she agrees that to be too negative now would have a bad impact on us. Soooooo I will be supportive but critical at the same time.
I managed to get a lot of small bits and pieces sorted out some of which were very complicated. All in all quite pleased with my days input. Tomorrow brings a day when I have to tell a member of staff that I'm not going to renew his contract. Never a nice thing to do but it has to be done. I think he has been expecting it for a while now.
It feels funny with B away in the lifestyles centre. I can't ring her as often as I'd like and she can't ring me at all unless from her mobile and that's very expensive. Ruth is happy and now has a boyfriend for a change. He's a good bit older but there's no use in worrying or stressing about things that I can't change. Not sure if i would want to anyway as she is happy.
Went for a nice walk with Shona and the kids. Quite a cool evening but lovely nonetheless.
