I've just joined the Oban Mountaineering Club. Seems like a very lively and interesting group. Not sure if I'll go to their Xmas bash but we'll see. Here's the link .

It's been ages since I last posted. Nothing really exciting has happened. I'm enjoying my work more these days. A little less pressure now that it is only Nathan and I again. WP and I are steadily trekking up and ticking off the Munroes. I tried for one yesterday but the weather was too bad so I had to turn around at 600m - with only 300 to go. There was too much snow and I was thoroughly knackered. Here a pic from the maximum height reached. If you look carefully to the right of the pic you'll see the as yet unobtained summit.

Having a really good weekend. B. Arrived last Tuesday and we stayed one night in Glasgow courtesy of my job as I had a networking event the day after and then we traveled up the road to surprise everyone. No walking this week but last Saturday Wullie and I went up Ben Lomond again in "EXCITING" weather. Nearly got blown away and washed away but for those who climb or walk they will know how alive it makes one feel. Bloody good walk with good company.
My local has just been bought over and that is also a wee bitty exciting. Not sure what will happen to the Anchor. Funny how my life since 1989 has revolved around pubs called the Anchor! Niles will know what I mean.
A strange thing happened on the way to.............................
I had a meeting on Tuesday at a school near Campbeltown. After the meeting I met a lady from Gigha. We had a very good friend there who unfortunately died of a brain hemorrhage at 34. He had 3 small boys at the time and after initial contact with his wife Elizabeth for a couple of months we lost touch. I asked this lady if she knew anything of the family. Bloody strange thing is that Elizabeth works less than 500m from my office in Campbeltown and I knew nothing of it. I have a definite plan to meet her on Monday and say hello.
