Well here I am again. Bit of a panic as everything is shut tomorrow and B. needed me to send her some money over the internett, hence the mad rush to the library after work. All done now so can go and partake of the beer war mentioned previously and buy myself a pizza at the same time.
Double dose of Star Trek Voyager tomorrow so all set for that.

Quiet day today. Very mild here with temps about 16c. Spent the day running around and got lots done. On a sideline I saw the first snake of the year today at work. It was an Adder and was not especially pleased to see me. He buggered off rather rapidly after I disturbed his nap in the sun. B. and I ate out on the terrace and had a nice relaxing time, long may it last.

Well the big news today is that the "FOSK" eggs have hatched. Lots of little tadpoles. Roisin will have difficulty with the norwegian for tadpoles which is rumpetroller, which basically means bottom trolls.
Had a meetingin the local council offices in Arna today. The advisor and I spoke norwegian and B. spoke english. A fly on the wall would have laughed. Funny thing is that when you begin to think in a language I find it is difficult to switch over to another easily.
For example today I was listening to my workmate prattle away today and trying to read an english book. I had to tell him to give my head peace in the end.
He's very christian and almost everything is a sin. He still managed to watch a slightly sexy film last night even though he was totally disgusted. Guess he wanted to see if it was equally disgusting all the way through!

Bit of a strange weekend this. Everything went relatively well! Nathan went out with his pals at 10 this morning to play some data game or other and then Ruth's friend was getting confirmed - a really big affair here (she got about £1500 in gifts)- and Ruth was the singer for the party. She came home very pleased with how it all went. She is about the happiest I've seen her in a long time. Good for her to get positive feedback about her singing talents from people other than family.
B. and I spent the day lounging about reading (I took Dino's advice and am now reading Farseer) and listeng to David Grey and Louis Armstrong. Got my head shaved and am now off to the bath to finish reading my book.

Been in a very active mood today. Painted the doors up the stairs and then went for a long cycle ride and then went for a walk up the mountain and collected some frog spawn for Róisín to watch develop. She was very pleased and keeps saying fosk, fosk (Norse for frog is frosk), her mum Shona is not too pleased at having them in the house even though they are only eggs. I think she expects them to hop out of the jar any minute.
Spoke to my old boss on the way home and they want me back and are willing to pay me very well for it. Not interested though, more interested in moving home. Got some loans to pay off before that can happen so it will take a wee bit of time. Generally been a good day today. I think that keeping myself active really helps. Nice and warm here too.

Going into town to take Ruth to her dancing lessons. Can't be arsed but too risky for her to go to town alone on a Friday. Lots of emotions running around the house today and not all of them good ones.

Feeling bloody awful today. Lots of stress and no light at the end just more bloody tunnel. Took a few tablets so hopefully they will kick in and let me relax. Very stressed out and so as usual I'm stressing everyone else out too. Deep breaths and a bath are called for I think. We have a visitor coming for an hour and after that I'm off to the tub.

Just had the quickest parent-teacher meeting ever - 2 mins. We went on the wrong bloody day. Should've been Thursday. Ah well just me and B. for a while this evening so having a pizza and a glass of wine. Exciting news here is that there is a beer price war on. 0,33l costs 8 kroner instead of 22. Bloody marvelous that.

Spent the day painting the bedroom and bathroom doors. Bit of a bugger when we need to go to the loo but we are only 3 tonight so we can cope. Saw 3 very nice deer on Friday morning on the way to work at 6.30. Reminds me of a time in some forest or other with a Ph.D. student. Lots of fun that.

Have had a very stressful week. My daughters' boyfriend and father of my two grandchildren has just been given one weeks notice to leave Norway. He is Kurdish and has been refused the right to stay in Norway, even though he has worked and paid taxes almost the entire time he has been here. Shona (my daughter) is distraught as can well be expected. We try to help as much as we can and I have even been on tv but to no avail. I feel so sorry for her. He supplies all of the income for their flat and if he goes she will have to go to the social office for help. Why can't they grant him temporary residence so that he can pay taxes and feed his family whilst they consider his case????

Have suitably recovered and have a better idea. Will cycle half way and get a lift from my workmate the rest of the way. Parking my bike at his house. Sounds good to me. Spent the day in Voss. A ski resort about 1.5 hours from home. The nuns have a retreat centre there and we were needed to do some repairs. Found a little plant I hadn't seen before so the day was a huge success.

Planning to cycle to work tomorrow. 24km or so. Will be bloody knackered by the time I get there. Have done it before a few times so nothing new in it. Have to leave home at 6am to get there for 7.30. I've been training a wee bit over the week, just going out now to make the finishing touches to the brakes and gears etc.

Youngest daughter Ruth was 15 today so we had the egg hunts earlier and then the big birthday party with cake and so on. I think she had a nice day nad she said so many times. It was certainly less stressful than expected.
Whole family was here. I took Roisin out for a walk with the walking stick I made her to go with mine. She is such a card! Laughing and giggling all the time whilst we were out, leaning on her stick when I do. The sun dims in her presence.

Just took an IQ test. One of those with questions like; If all fizzles are fuddles, are all weesers wussies? Hated doing it but was chuffed to get 129. Here is the test site.

Back after an extended absence. Lots of shitty stuff happening but today I got up early and grilled breakfast for B. and I out on the terrace. We had coffee, and an ulster fry so it was really nice and relaxing. We sold the car and got only 8,000,- for it. She was in bad need of repair though so that was a fair enough price I suppose.
Norway is closed for easter but at least the weather is gorgeous. Both B and I are sunburned after today's toils in the garden.
Happy easter!
