Sunday, February 27, 2005 [] Yet another glorious days skiing. Getting quite brown actually as the sun is really quite strong and the snow helps too. Tired and with a sore bum (the big emergency brake) so it will be an early night tonight. Getting quite a bit of pressure to take start a post grad in education. Not entirely convinced for many reasons. Student poverty being the main one and how the family will cope whilst i am on a student grant. My age may go against me too in terms of getting a teaching job as I would then be 44. Lots and lots to think of but my instincts say no. Monday, February 21, 2005 [] Lots and lots of stress. Trying to get Shona's apartment cleared out. Hopefully getting it all out by tomorrow. Then it is just washing the walls and cupboards etc. Trying to get membership of the IEEM and I had to find someone who was a member to sponsor me. Unbelievingly hard as I didn't know anyone but I managed to recognize a name and asked him. Luckily he said he would look at my application and then sponsor me. Seems like he's taking it all seriously. We'll se what happens as it seems that it will help with job applications. Feels like I've written this all before but I don't know where. Sunday, February 20, 2005 [] Had a fantastic time up in the mountains. Nathan didn't want to go after all so we went up to the mountains about 20 mins from our front door. See the new pics. I impressed myself at what I acheived today and even got a sunburned face. The wind was strong at the top and we were being blown along very easily. I must admit to walking down the last trail as there were so many people coming up and I'm not that clever at stopping so thought it was best for them and me. Friday, February 18, 2005 [] Took the day off today to get the cat castrated. Not his idea of fun I can tell you. We got him a tattoo in his ear to help him feel a wee bit butch. B. is now in Derry so it's just the men here. Missing her like mad. She is wonderful to talk to and chat things over with. Anyway it's only a week. Have made fish and chips for us tonight with the beer of course - Nathan gets alc-free beer. Monday, February 14, 2005 [] Have uploaded a nice picture of Ruth and Nathan when they are not fighting - rarity. [] Well. Didn't get the job and have had a few other thanks but no thanks BUT I refuse to get dispirited (is that a word?). I am determined to move this year as early as possible. A lot of personal shit depends on it so i can't let B. or myself down. Shona is here to pack up her stuff and to sell the last few bits and pieces of her kitchen wares. She hands in the keys tomorrow. B. Shona, Veli and Ruth are off to Ireland on Wednesday. Shona will then be gone for good and that is a tough thought for me personally but it's the best move for her. On the up side Nathan and I are taking the cat to get castrated on Friday and then off for the weekend Skiing to Voss with my mate Olvar. Wednesday, February 09, 2005 [] I've been really tired these days so I'm off to get a bit of a jizz in the solarium. have been running every night and doing sit ups and so on but have been away from the gym fro many reasons but I'm off again tonight. everyone in the house is colouring their hair except me I'm going to go grey (and bald) gracefully. Sunday, February 06, 2005 [] Seems to a rash of pregnancies coming to my attention these days. There is of course Dinos awaited happy event but I've also recently learned that two girls from my year at Uni' are having babies this year too. Liz in April and Claire in the early summer. 2005 going to be a good year. Saturday, February 05, 2005 [] Finally relaxed and I've even managed to get the pc up and running apart from this irritating liveservice_9.DLL message at start up. Had to run the pc in safe mode to do a scandisk. Have an updated virus protection service so don't think it's a virus. Applying away for more jobs, lots of them with Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). We'll see where that goes. As I think i said earlier I won't make the same mistakes at my next interview as I did at the last one. Good learning experience as they say. Friday, February 04, 2005 [] Came home totally scunnered and exhausted. Interview went well enough but they asked questions about legislation and that's not something I've done before. Never mind though I now know that I have to sharpen up to be in with the big boys. |
