We went to see an apartment for Ruth and Bernardette tonight. It was small but it was more than enough for the two of them and the landlord can speak english which helps B a lot. If he accepts them then he will ring us tomorrow and let us know. We'll see. We have the Barnevern tomorrow at 2 and they have promised to help us with housing as Ruth is on their books they have to.

I've just realised - maybe others have realised it before me - that my Blogg is a bit like eastenders. Lots of moaning and complaining but very few light points :-) Going to try harder as I used to tell the French teacher. Today I decided I would see how far I got at work by just speaking english. It was amazing how difficult it was! I just couldn't de-programme my head into speaking english. It just seems as if when I get to work the Norwegian head is on. Helen and Olvar were over yesterday to see what we were having for dinner. We were having Haggis so they went to his parents for food instead. Cheeky so and so's.
I've decided not to go to Glasgow next week for interview. I re-read the job description and they sm to want someone to be both manager and environmentalist. I've no direct management experience and feel very insecure about the whole thing. I'm normally quite a confident person when it comes to my abilities but this seems a bit out of my league. Anyway I'm in discussion with my bro' about a way forward. More to follow.

Really relaxed now after a long hot bath. Sounds boring but I've been stressing a lot today so I needed a bit of time out to myself and retreating to the bath was the best way. Spoke to my brother via Skype tonight and they were out enjoying the sun with the old barbeque on the go and an odd glass of wine. Sounded like great craic. Looks like it will be an early night tonight and up for work in the morning. Another Monday:-(

Scunnered. I was supposed to hear from Oban yesterday and haven't. I've been fooling myself in that - maybe they meant that they would send me word by mail and not ring me. IDIOT.
Anyoldway I'm now concentrating on the Glasgow job and working on my powerpoint presentation. Getting into it so we'll see.
Fed up with these bloody rejections. We had a meeting yesterday with some people re our daughter Ruth and they will help us in any way with the move but the point is that I had done my best and was extremely pleased after the interview and it seems that it was not enough. Where to go from here? Bugger it.

Managed to get to see all of the important people that mean a lot to me without getting myself stressed out over what where when etc. Had a great day with Niall and then a nice dinner with them at Shona's. I saw my mate Paul and was at theirs overnight for a bite and a wee drink great stuff and then I caught up with Euan and Pete at the uni'. All done without stress yippeeeee.

Back home after a gruelling trip to Ireland and then an unintentional or rather unplanned trip to Scotland for interview. Went well and I'm more than pleased with my performance. I've another in Glasgow in June and have to give a presentation. Lots of talking to do with the missus to sort out where we go from here. Glad to be home.

What a week for developments. Lots of things have happened and the result of it all is that I am going to Derry tomorrow for 1 week via Dublin. I lived in NI for 14 years and have been in Dublin twice so it's going to be fun. I have to get the bus at 11.30 to be in Derry at 4. Shona will be surprised.

Boy am I ever tired. Have spent all week, since last Saturday, after work with Olvar laying slabs on a patio. Still not finished. I think I've used all the energy I have on it. See new pic in gallery.
Ruth had her confirmation on Thursday. It was touch and go as to Whether or not she would do it and as to whether or not we could be bothered with the stress. Thursday was a holiday here so it went off ok. Lots of stress but all worked out well even after I exploded on Thursday morning.
Shona has been given a house and now she is all set to move in after a couple of weeks. We'll be over maybe in June so I hope to catch up with Mr and Mrs Dino and have a chat. Other than that time has been flying by. My pal Liz in Oz had a wee girl today called Emer Mary (6lb, 12oz) and all are well apparently. Great news.
