Absolutely knackered tonight. Spent all day feeding the midgies up the hill except for a brief respite when IT section gave me a new pc at last. Got it all set up and internet ready so I'm connected to the world from work at last.
Had a cracker of a run last night. I was running for over 40 mins and ran past one of the many standing stones around here. Remarkably enough it is still standing. I took a short breather there and had a look around. Funny sensation being close to something that someone in the disant past thought a lot about and went to great effort to stand up. Anyway it was getting late and I was getting goosebumps so I ran home pretty sharpish.

My nephew David has been with me this weekend and we have had a blast. I'm uploading some pics later on. We went for a 41/2 hour hike yesterday. Saw loads of stuff including a golden eagle. The weather has been fantastic and we're off up the hill for another wee trip now. It'll be sad to have to put him on the bus at 12.30 today but it's been really good.

Good day today too. We interviewed for new clients today. We asked 12 to come along and only 3 turned up. 1 of those was 5 months pregnant and another had a heart attack last month!!!!!
Jimmy never came by last night. He wasn't allowed out to play. Maybe tonight.
Off to Oban tomorrow. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Much better day again today. Except for that Scotty has died. He had a good life it seems.
Interviewing tomorrow. All morning, something like 20 interviews and then job seeking with the clients.
I had the IT section in at work today to find out if they can fit a modem to my works PC or if it would be cheaper with a new one. Looking good for at least a newer model. I am pushing for a laptop but not too hopeful after the events of the last few days.
My bro' Wullie has become a Blogg freak. He found out that if you click on "Next Blogg" at the top of my blogg then you can surf the lives of others quite happily. He spent many happy hours last night looking at them and several minutes on the 'phone to me, telling me what was on them.

I'm off to Oban on Friday for a client/staff get together. We are apparently having some outdoor centre giving us some tasks to do as part of a team building thing. Sounds ok as long as they are not nonsensical tasks. Quite fancy a bit of rock climbing or similar. After the free grub there's a load of speeches. Then home for around 5. It's going to be a long day.

One of the clients is coming over this evening to show me how to use my dvd burner to it's best advantage. I haven't tried it yet so I'm hoping it will go well.

Today started off well enough. I had a talk with Gerry on the waydown to Campbeltown and told him how I felt. He says that he understood and that he himself had felt a bit superfluous. I hope that things will sort themselves out now.
The day ended a bit shitty with the big boss ringing me and asking why we weren't finished with the current project. The upshot of it is that the boys have other commitments. 1 sick, 1 on hols and 2 with driving tests tomorrow so they had lessons most of the day today. Site meeting on Monday but there is absolutely no way we will be finished by the end of next week.

Only one of the boys turned up for work today but we managed to get a lot done anyway.
I must admit to getting a wee bit frustrated with the old supervisor still being around. He's a nice guy but I'm beginning to feel that he is in the way. My decisions should be exactly that and not up for discussion. There ar eno conflicts but it's a bit like there being two people doing exactly the same job with the same team. I will talk to him tomorrow. Problem is that if all of the boys turned up we could split up and get more done. That seems to be a rarity.
Anyway we have a long drive to Campbeltown tomorrow so I'll have a wee chat with him then.

Spoke to B and the kids last night and all is well. They've had a few adjustment problems but it all seems to be sorted out now.

What a day. I've been up in the hills for about 4 hours this morning, saw some deer and grouse. I was all alone up there. What a great feeling and very relaxing. My nephew is coming up for the weekend on Friday and we'll do some walking on Saturday after going to the pub on Friday night that is.

Went for a short run along the shore and came home to chicken salad, with olives and feta cheese. Having a wee glass ofwine too.
Monday tomorrow and the boys have promised to give me no reason to discipline them. We'll see. I'm none to hopefull. I hated thesacking and the warnings but I had no choice.

Had a bit of a domestic day today. Paperwork al done and I'm ahead of schedule. Managed to get all my washing done and hung out so I'm doing well. Off to the doc's this afternoon to get my cholesterol levels checked to see if it's ok. Fine and dry here so I'm hoping to get another load out on the line. How sad am I? Do you think I'm bored????

It's been a bit of a shitty week this week so far. I've sacked someone for not turning up for work and given two warnings for timekeeping. Other than that I've been doing a lot of running and walking to try and lose my wee belly. I was at the docs (nurse) today for a registration test and it went well but I have to see the doc herself on Friday to get my blood checked as my oldest Bro' had a heart attak and we have a history of heart disease in the family. No worries though as I'm fit as a flea.
William (one older than me) comes up with my red cross parcel on Friday and will stay over until Saturday so I'll get out to play on that night. B. left off the things that I couldn't manage when she passed through last week.
Having a tin of cider. This is the first one in 20 years I believe.
Looking forward to the fantastic 4.

Monday 11th

Online again at last.

Sunday 10th

Had a really good weekend. The guy I’m replaceing is staying for a few more weeks. We had a big meeting on Friday with the whole team (around 25 of us). After the meeting we had a few pints and you know something it is great to be home at last. I missed out on so much when i was in Norway that I hadn’t thought about.
Today I walked to the highest point between here and Skipness. Fantastic views of Arran and Bute. Hot and steamy. I have an idea to go to the pub but i think I’ll resist it this time. Next wek is all meetings and only short periods of work.

Thursday 7th July

Well this has been a good week for me. I’ve met some nice people and have settles into a rather boring wee village. Work has gone really well. Basically the boys don’t want to be here but they have to be here or they lose their benefits.they re a good bunch the idea is to find out who can do what and what they want to do.
I’ve started running again so at least i am getting fit. B arrives in Ireland tomorrow. Then she leaves the boy child off with me.

Sunday 3rd July 2005

This diary is in place of my blogg on the internet. I cannot for the moment access the internet. I’ve decided to use the bt and go for the £17 option with limited downloads. It is difficult to get an internet provider here so it will have to do until something better comes along. I can always upgrade the options as and when I need to.
William and Lynn have gone back to Glasgow and I just called them so they got there ok. It takes about 3 hours driving to get here soit was worthwhile that they stayed over last night. We went out to the pub and had a great night. Typical pub life. Something I’ve sorely missed from living in Norway. We met some older ladies who were on the parade for the Fish Festival which has been underway this weekend. They were drinking bottled water – or so we thought. They had been filling them up with Vodka and lemonade so that it looked like water. They were great fun. Totally harmless and up for just about anything that could be construed as harmless fun.
I’m missing B and the kids unbeleivably. They seem so far away. Shona is nearby, so that’s a big plus. We managed to get the house over there sorted out and we got the deposit back so at least B is a bit flush now. We’ll see what she decides to do with the money. Hopefully a trip to Ireland and then here.
I went up the hill behind the flat this afternoon to ease the boredom. It was lovely and warm. Really nice walk over to the next village. I didn’t go all the way but I intend to next week. It takes 4 hours each way. So if i set of early I can have pub lunch there and then walk home again. Jolly good idea I think.
