I've been rained off today so I've been looking around for a car. It's times like this you realise when you don't have a clue about the things. Hopefully have more luck tomorrow.

Sitting here watching Stargate on my own. Nathan took his mum down to Glasgow for her flight today. Feeling a bit lonely.
On an up note, I'm looking for a new car to go with the new job. I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to cars so I'll enlist some help.
I had a rough night out last night with Gerry, who was in my job before I came and who will be in my job when I move up.
SORE heads all round this morning.

B. is on a one week visit and travels back to the "N" place via E.K. on Friday. I'm not looking forward to it as it has been great to have her here. Nathan will go down to Glasgow with her for the trip and to say "see ya", for a wee while anyway.
I've had an extremely unusual day today. My boss rang me at 12 and asked if i could be in Campbeltown by 3. I said yes without asking why. The whole thing is they have offered me the projects manager job for the whole of Argyll and Bute team. This was a fantastic offer and a fantastic shock to the system. I said yes of course but I'll wait to get it on paper before i celebrate too much. I hope to get this tomorrow or the next day if not then the whole thing was a duffer.
We'll see and more to follow.

I finished the Paulo Coelho book today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the Hermann Hesse book later.

Having a nice relaxing time with B. here. We are all going out for dinner this evening to my local. They made a big thing of welcoming B. lastnight which was really nice. She brought this very nice photograph of our grandchildren.

I don't know how on earth Shona managed to get the apples back off them after the photo session.

Trying to be super efficient these daysbut it's not working. I've agreed to have a team of 6 + myself for next week, but the van only takes 6. We're doing first aid next week and Monday is a holiday so I'll work it out. Nathan playing away on his guitar and sounding good.

Looking forward to surprises. More info after this week?????????

Random pic from Tarbert area, taken on oneofmy many walks.

Have just said goodbye to the barman at my local. He's german and finished up for the summer last night. There was a wedding last night in the bar and funnily enough it was a couple from Strabane who got married. I didn't know them but there was a girl there from Muff who knew B.
Didn't get home until 2ish.
Went over to say goodbye to Jørg and ended up being invited to the big going away dinner. Bit daft as I'd just eaten dinner and wasn't hungry. Very nice seafood platter with lots of extras. A good evening and now I'm relaxing with the boy who is yet again glued to Stargate.

I hada good day at work today. Everything went to more than plan. I seem to have a really good team this time and they have a great sense of humour. We need this due to the amount of work they have to do. I'm going for a couple of pints this evening and off out for dinner tomorrow night. Socialite eh?

Architects are no good (BIG generalisation). Anyway we had one of them telling us that some of the work we had done - to their spec- was no good. This is crap as it was better than their spec but we had no platform on which to defend ourselves as the site inspection was carried out without us.
Anyway I had a meeting with my boss today and all is well. He is on our side and agrees with us so that takes a lot of the stress away from me. We have drafted a scathing report to the Architects and we will see what happens.

I went for a great walk today along the shore to the oakwoods. It's about a 2 hour walk altogether but I wandered around the woods for about an hour on tope of this. I found some great mushrooms and lots of me stuff (plants). I saw two gorgeous young Roe deer feeding at the edge of a field. They stood for ages whilst I got out my camera but the tune when I switch the thing on scared them off. I've tried to get rid of it but can't figure it out at all. Anyway here's a pic of where they were.

Well a rather uneventful week just gone by. I've started walking again to try and help my fitness levels which have suffered rather a lot these past couple of months. I tried running but it aggravates an old injury to my hip. Truth is I'm getting old so i need to find my own speed. To start with anyway :-)
Appeared in the local paper on Friday. Fame at last.
